Volunteer of the Year 2018

On Tuesday November 27th, 2018 Eleanor Kerr was recognized as Volunteer of the Year at the 30th Annual Awards dinner hosted by the Kitchener Sports Association. The dinner was held at the Edelweiss Banquet Hall and 25 WRBA volunteers were in attendance to help celebrate the event!

Eleanor immigrated to Canada from Italy with her mother and brother to join her father in Ottawa. She met and married Colm, who later was a founding member/coach of the Waterloo Regional Boxing Academy.

After retirement she became involved with WRBA as the corporate secretary. Eleanor’s job involved taking notes for all meetings, keeping board members informed of all club news etc and working on different committees in all aspects of WRBA life. Eleanor continues to support the club in her new position as a Director.
