Volunteer of the Year 2019
Waterloo Regional Boxing Academy attended the 31st Annual Volunteer Recognition Awards dinner held on November 26th and paid tribute to Board Member Amanda Kesselring. The event is hosted by the Kitchener Sports Association and recognizes volunteers in our community.
Amanda is a native of Cambridge and actively participated in all sports, excelling at soccer. Amanda first came to the Waterloo Regional Boxing Academy in 2006 where she trained with the Competitive Boxing Program at the old, former facility. During the transition years to the new facility, it became apparent that WRBA required a strong and experience Executive Board.
Through her love of boxing and encouragement from her coaches, Amanda joined the Executive Board in 2009 as a Director.
Amanda has held various positions on the Board including the position of Secretary and works tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the boxing club runs smoothly. Amanda volunteers and supports all the extra-curricular activities and fundraisers at the gym. Throughout the years, Amanda has watched the club grow and develop into the awesome facility it is today!
