Waterloo Boxing Athletes going to Sweden

Three members of the Waterloo Regional Boxing Academy will be travelling to Boras Sweden from January 31st to February 5th, 2024 to participate in the 14th Annual Golden Girl Tournament. Head Coach Rick Cadilha will be travelling with the team. Golden Girls Championship

The Golden Girl Tournament is one of the worlds largest female tournaments with 400 participants from 30 different nations, open for all levels and all categories.

Boras is located only 60 km from Gothenburg and the nearest airport is the Landvetter airport. The event will be Livestreamed with over 20000 viewers around the globe.

The WRBA Team attending the Golden Girl Tournament would consist of three (3) athletes, Madeline Handfield, Abigail Purdie and Brooklyn Kaufman. These athletes were identified based on

1. Current training commitment at the gym
2. Expected results at this tournament which is expected to be a high-level tournament.
3. Volunteering at the gym
